SPKoF Good news. As always an exceptional well organised race by David Denton. The bad news - the WORST performance I've done to date - by a mile. Only 1 second quicker than last time when I was injured and had no miles in my legs. A true abortion of an effort. In case you hadn't guessed this is my first 'bad' race. I'm told all runners have them - Sod that. never again. Not happy with that at all. Congrats to Vicky Y on her first ever first for club. :) Long Eaton Running Club 5:25 40:18 40:18 9.46
Vickyy My first fell race! What an experience! There were some tough climbs and some even tougher descents - I was really getting into it and then with 300 yards to go I went over on my ankle big style. Decided to finish the race - couldn't pull out so close to the end, despite the fact that now I am typing this with my left ankle strapped and elevated. But that's my own fault for running in trail shoes rather than fell shoes. I haven't been put off. I think I will do some retail therapy to cheer myself up and order some fell shoes. Brilliant event and definitely will do it again - this won't be my only fell race I am sure of that! Long Eaton Running Club 6:12 6:12 45:37 9.26
