Hoped for a good time and maybe retain West District V40 medal. Got neither felt good at first running similar paces to Inverness (through 10k in 34.55) alongside Hayley Haining then the wheels came off at 7, got hit by a wheel (push bike) at 8 then old friend mega blisters to the finish. Just about held on for 2nd and a rather undeserved 1st male trophy. And the ever efficient Scottish Athletics didn't turn up with the West District prizes.
13.26 distance on Garmin, not chip timed, poor race due to stomach cramps, think I must have eaten something that did not agree with me:-(
Andrew H
1st half marathon. Hard but enjoyed.
£10 if enter before 31 July! 1.5 hr, 60 mile drive. Flat tho. Hmm. :-)
Delighted with run. Best half marathon time since my injuries began in 2008. Kicked it in the last mile, thanks to Mo for the inspiration :)
Excellent opportunity for me to be last at this race.Ok was second last.

*update* that prediction would have been worth a tenner at Willie Hills...
How come I now 'run' the whole way (as opposed to run/walk) and get even feckin slower?? Srsly I am capital letter shit.

Apart from that, I finished and got home before the other half played 18 holes of golf and I will have to wait for the results to see my time. Never seen so many racing snakes in my life and think I will stick to the mass participation 'fun runs' in future!

Really well organised, super friendly marshals and some lovely people on the route (including a family sitting on garden chairs in the drizzle) giving this heifer loads of encouragement. Glad I got a medal, I'd have been raging if I didn't!!!
Saw LouLou and Clarevmc passing opposite me. Well done girls x
Perfect running weather. Fair enjoyed this and for once raced well. feel there more to come as well. PB as a bonus! Really well organised race.
