Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Newbury parkrun #1

First event I've entered for nearly 2 years. Hadn't run in over a month. Took it very easy for the first half, I'd started marathons quicker than this. Picked up the pace on the second half. Just under 4 mins slower than my last a parkrun 2 years ago.

Jogged it round - nice to run in the snow. No real damage to the ankle but back to bench.
Watford Wobble
Having a proper crack at a PB at this distance. Not wearing a Santa suit should help!

Decided to pace Fizz to a PB due to icy conditions. Whilst not slippy under foot being a trail race caution took precedence.
-12 degrees, frozen eyelashes and hair, but the cold and snow did not detract from the fun. Brilliant organization and such a quick course.
Lost 5lbs in 24 hours due to food poisoning Thursday night/Friday morning. For most of Friday, resting pulse was 95-100. Between that and the snow, I'm really pleased by the time even though it's my slowest parkrun of 2012.
Didn't try too hard with all the ice, but the mudclaws were needed

Just jogging round! Do not bet on me.

Fantastic first running of this event - beautiful sunny day (car said -11 degrees when we parked up)
Happy with result - been back jogging for 3 weeks now so all going in the right direction. This was 100% effort. 8th, 1st V45 (by 3s!!!)
317 finishers. Beats previous first event parkrun record by 101!!! Brilliant organisation.
Very very fast course. hard packed gravel (so could be a little loose if it's rained), but not suitable for spikes. hard packed enough to give fast results.
Highly recommend it.
LOVED this - -10 degrees and snow and ice on the ground but fabulous atmosphere and stunningly beautiful day :-)
