Treacle This was a hard one! hot, humid and hilly:-) Went off far too fast for the first 3 k - about 8.5 min miling. Was close to blowing up at 3k, especially after a steady climb. Slowed right down to 10 min miles and decided to just run my own race. Started running much better and by 7k was overhauling people who had passed me before. However - the A21 traffic intervened and I just missed a road crossing, meaning I had to wait 2 mins to cross the road. Arggh! Everyone caught me up again, and I only had 0.5k to lose them again. Shook off most people, but was overtaken on the line by one girl who I thought I'd dropped a mile back. SO ANNOYED! But was great race, great varied terrain, and despite traffic got a PB so well chuffed really. (time above doesn't match official results - before anyone comments! they must have been very slow at writing down my result, cos I've been given a time 10 secs slower than the girl I was racing to the line - can't actually have been more than half a second in it. So have taken her time and added a second on to it cos I think thats pretty much what I did - don't think thats cheating is it?!) Unaffiliated 52:29 1:02:10 1:10:00 1:08:54 43.76
