My actual chip time was 1.14.57, so need to start nearer the front. Very pleased. Came 3rd in my age group. Encouragng forLondon
Carrot Cake 7
7132th out of 10,294
A major discrepancy between the distance covered on my watch and the distance of the race. So really confused as to why I paced it perfectly to just dip under 83 minutes and I unofficially ran an extra 0.13 miles further than the half marathon distance. How did that happen?
Have been out of action for about 6 months with over training syndrome, and absolutley NO energy or stamina.
629th out of 11000 cant be bad
Feels like I'm getting back on track
half marathon in preperation for the Milton Keynes marathon
sat 10th march: 2 days before race & I have come down with cold, blocked sinuses & sniffles. have taken loads of medication....no question of NOT running but have taken predicted time back to 1;40.....I need to rememebr that this has to be viewed as prep for london so will use as tempo run sub marathon pace if my breathing allows.....update tomorrow.....14/3 terrible run, off too quickly never sustained, resisted urge to quit, still feeling effects of cold.
Not too bad considering I hadn't run for best part of two weeks. Coughed my way around. Start was much better than previous years and I really needed that Mars bar in the goody bag
This race puts it self in the top 10 of the best races to do, as for the shutting the town off hats off for the organisation & teams involved who put it all in a bath. The supporter was close to london city streets, well done to u all. As for me
Same old story, if covered more miles i would do better, so by my calculation i'm letting my self down again, watch this space just hope its not a black hole again.
Luna ATS - 2nd toe blistered
Great race and great atmosphere with fab crowds. Found the last 4 miles quite tough. Again, need some longer runs in the bag for next year. Need to get that pacing right. Stick to it and run on the dot, if I am going to break 1:30 next year (2013)
was a very enjpyable race again. The weather was a few degrees warmer than expected which had a knock on effect
Not in the mood. Stupidly fast start at the front of the field and then felt I was going backwards as I was incessantly overtaken from beginning to end. Ran as an MJ and was grateful for all the MJ support along the way. Had forgotten (again) how hilly it was. Why can't they get the distance right? That extra 0.13 mile cost me 56 seconds. Went through 10k in 43.26!
Hopefully it's flat and the weather will be nice and i'll be happy!
It wasn't as flat as I'd anticipated, I was too hot in full length tights and felt horrible the whole run sorry to everyone who be on me
Grrr! Not best pleased with this results.
Set of aiming for 75min pace which I held onto for the first 7 miles.
Annoyingly, my garmin was quite a bit out, which meant that I had another .2 miles on top of the 13.1 according to the watch. This basically lost me a PB.
