RicC I should know better. I should know better than to leave it to the night before a race to check out the course profile and find that there is over 1300 feet of climb. I should know better than to go off like a daft puppy and run the first three miles of a marathon at 30 seconds per mile faster than PB pace. I've done 20-odd of these things now and I know I won't be able to keep that pace up! I should know better than to neglect sun screen. When racing in the sunny south its not the frozen northern wastelands of Edinburgh - you need sun screen to avoid getting burned. I should know better than to be a little disappointed with a 2:57 in those conditions. I am happy, however, with being 4th finisher and 3rd fastest cop in the country! ;-) Edinburgh Athletic Club 2:44:59 2:49:44 2:50:00 2:57:46 70.05
