Ultracat As I was setting off to the start there was a terrific thunderstorm and the rain came. Start was a river instead of the country lane it normally is and most of the runners huddled onto the grass verges. There was much laughter and jokes as we all dodged the deepest bit and we were off. Race is more or less uphill for 4 miles and then a flatish bit and then another hill at 6 miles. Got to halfway in 1.05 and then got into my stride and the sun came out. There were three more hills but not too bad, half a mile from the finish its very steep down and twisty, marshalls warned us it was slippy due to the rain. No sprint finish as I wadded through knee deep water 200m from the finish. Enjoyed it despite the puddles and well done to marshalls who were so cheerful and encouraging dispite the heavy rain.
