Race for Life - Epsom

Lalli Epsom is a new Race for Life venue. Unfortunately it was also a poor choice of site. The course is narrow, with long grass on both sides of dirt track or cut paths. Three major bottlenecks force you to come to a standstill to negotiate corners or get through trees. It was late starting at 11.30am and an organised warm-up by a fitness expert(!) was frankly pretty silly in 29 degrees and full sun! No water provided at the end of the race - just a small carton of cranberry juice, which was totally inadequate. Oh, and to add insult to injury you run down the curve of a hill towards the finish line and see the blow up marker only to find yourself doubling back for another half k to slog round to get to the finish. Hated this one. My poor 9 year old daughter Aimee had a hard time and she had trained well to run well over 3 miles in preparation. No water at the end....I ask you!
