Was not racing. Ran as a training run.
Blimey - went sub-90!
See training log for splits.
Going for a PB here hoping the wind stays away as it has coastal stretches.
Was a very good time for me after some decent training building up to it but a horrid weather wise with hard rain and wind at the start then a very windy tough stretch down the cost for 4 miles. Good news is ti probably means I have a sub 2 hour in me in better conditions
Update! official time was 02:02:18 not 02:02:55 that my Garmin said so even better
Doing as part of my preparation for the Chester marathon. Not too sure what to predict, put 1.45 in as similar to my Torbay time, but if the wind is bad then add five minutes to that, I'm not too fast when being sandblasted!
Update: Well about 12 seconds outside my prediction. Kind of pleased as I have to admit I found that wind hard going in the second half of the race. Think I used up too much effort in the wind as tried to increase the pace in the last two miles and there was nothing there. Also saw a couple of other fetch tops! Sorry I didnt say hello before hand, I'm a bit shy!
Very windy and wet great race had t stop for pee halfway round my of got a PB if not stopped
Course is completely flat .... but in Lancashire we have wind and rain even in August. Interesting conditions - started dry, then heavy rain for first mile, with gusty winds the whole time and "occasional showers" plus soakings from sea spray along the way. Captured my attention and am pleased with time given conditions and first-race shoes. Big High Five to Lytham Runner for first sub-1:30 - another Dragon Slain. Liked Eccles Cake at finish
