Deus My first ever race, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I had accidentally set my alarm for 6pm, rather than 6am, so it was a bit of a shock when I woke up at 7.15am! The weather looked shaky, it was supposed to rain, but it stayed dry and fairly warm. I found the 60 minute pacer and tried to stay not far from him, but overtook him about 5km in. The start was pretty crowded, but I soon settled into a nice steady pace, but I did realise I was going much faster than I normally would. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to maintain the pace for the whole distance, so I didn't speed up even though I felt fairly comfortable. The hills at the end were pretty tough, but I was so pleased with my time. Now I have something to beat next year! Unaffiliated 51:38 54:41 1:05 58:59 50.38
