I was really up for this tonight I tried really hard and it paid off with a new PB by 2 min 46 secs. I knew it was going well at the half way point when I saw the time was a couple of seconds quicker than my 5k PB. I kept pushing and by 8.5 k the legs went to jelly but I kept going and so glad I did.
A PB by 36s. Hoped for a fast run, but was surprised how well it went. Weather conditions helped, plus I seemed to get the pacing right.
I just love this race, some say the course is boring but I love to see what they've done to the circuit year on year!
19.08 first 5k, 18.28 second 5k, maybe the way forward.
My first 10k race, can't decide whether to put my head down and go for it or save myself for the Trailerblazer two days later.
Happily surprised to have run so well. Woo Hoo!
2nd PB this week, but wished I'd had headphones on as did find it a tad dull. Mis-judged finish line so a bit slow in starting sprint finish. Great turn out & fab club support.
Steady pace preping for Halsted Marathon on Sunday
Nice race, lovely to run during the sunset. I probably went too fast on the first lap as I seemed to run out of steam by the 2nd!
Carrot Cake 7
Great first lap, stitch at 7km. Don't drink lots of water prior to race.
Felt great from the start, stuck at a steady 6.50 per mile pace for the first 5 k and went through the half way mark in 21.01, felt good on the second 5k and pushed on clocking a PB for the second 5k of 19.47 to set a PB of 40.48, over the moon
