My annual outing at 5K and as usual I was slower than my 10K times would suggest I should be.
First K seemed fairly brisk, but I suspect that the 1K marker was about 50m too early. The next 4K were even paced, but not fast enough for sub 19 mins. Still I managed to knock a few seconds off last year's time.
Raining, miserable weather and disappointing time. So much for running sub 18, ah well maybe soon.
Disappointing time but legs still tired from half marathon
feeling tired but I do enjoy this event - will gun it & see ?
Went well - used Geoff new as a Pacemaker for the first 2km but 3.45 for 1km was a bit too quick, slowed to 8.02 through 2km & 12.15 to 3km but pleased to hang on so well. 10 seconds off my PB - finished 55th overall & 10th in the 35-44 age category. (chip time given - gun time 20.18)
