I was feeling quite good tonight and whilst the Yateley 10k is a bit of a tough one, I thought I could sneak in under 40 mins. Well things started well and I managed a great pace but completely forgot about how deceptive the last 3km are. Pace dropped a bit in the last 3 km but I dug in deep and really pushed at the end to get in under 40mins. Sprinted past 5 guys on the finishing straight
Very chuffed with myself. Think next time I'll try take it easier at the beginning and push at the end.
Official results: 40 / 675
Calf went at 8k
6 seconds slower from Monday`s 10Km but does prove pacing works. Splits - 7:56, 7:47, 7:28, 7:31, 7:43, 7:47, 1:34 (0.25m @ 6:18/m). Great Evening. Good to see loads of folks
Good weather, good time but got bad calf cramp and ended up with micro tear. Out of action for 5weeks!
Ran with two running buddies from CPRC aiming to get one of our newer members to run 10K in under 1 hr.
Knew i could beat my pb of 41:30 from last year but hoped to get under 40 mins and did. Started really well and clocked 2 very fast miles, then I got stomach pains around my rib cage and had to walk for a minute before easing my way back into full race speed. Lost some time but still finished with a great time overall. Could I have run faster without the break though, we'll see next month!
Carrying several injuries - ran with strapped knee and ankle like a typical running idiot, just because I'd paid good money to enter this race.
