I don't remember quite so many hills last time... Fantastic organisation as usual from Bedford Harriers with loads of support round the course and some heroic marshalling at the bridge and subsequent junction.
First time doing this, 2 weeks before Marathon so unsure whether to test out PMP for this run or treat as a gentle 20 mile training run as part of my taper.
Ran with la bandit, great race enjoyed and nice and steady, oh and a pb
Forgot how hard this was but bagged a county medal x loved the fetchie pants hanging up < well done guys x
Garmin was 2.59.25 probably about 30 seconds to cross the start line, not sure what the difference was.
Flat Out Fi
It went well, it was a lot hillier than the last one I did! I was surprised just how hilly it was! but it was a nice route and the other Fiona was with me nearly all the way! We got to mile 19 and she seemed to have a bit more in her tank than me and started to pull away! I tried to keep up but it didnt happen so in the end she finished about 15 secs ahead of me! So not too bad! My time was 2.21.36 so a bit slower than the last 20 but still a decent time averaging just over 7 min miles! I was 7th lady overall, 3rd FV35 and 93rd out of 796 in total!
Really enjoyed it - the furthest I've ever either run or raced. Great organisation, (not just saying that 'cos I'm a Harrier) lovely weather, good company and virtually no idiots with ipods cutting you up. I feel I'm well on the way to Embra.
Managed to stick pretty closely to my planned schedule, so pleased that I maintained the pace fairly steadily, and a PB by 6 mins or so - which was nice. Now, if I could just manage that pace for another 6.2 miles .....
PB and a County medal for first in age categaory (old Farts)
Tough.. but at least my hip is still working!
went pretty much as i hoped .around 7 45s for 7 miles ,7 20s for next 8, 7s for final 5.
good undulaing course ,lovely weather.
Aiming for 1st 10miles @ 9:30mm and last 10miles at 8:30mm......let's see what happens!
Changed plan on day to first 5 @ 9:30, next 5 @ 9:00 and last 10 at 8:30mm.
Ran with Viddy for 10m then did my own race. Negative splits. Came 12th. Course longer than 20m by 250-30m?
Garden City Rick
Started at the back and ran 10 miles easy and aimed for 2nd 10 miles to be 10 minutes quicker. In fact it was about 8 minutes quicker.
For a race that has laps, its a great course!
Its a well marshalled course and water station every 3miles
Still feeling strong at mile 20 so v pleased with form for Boston.
wow a lot better than I expected. Well done Bedford Harriers your races are always excellent.
Still had bronchitis 2y to virus last w/e. Last 2M 8:38, 8:11; q pleased with result considering fitness state. 5days Antibiotics started Wed. b4 race.
Felt good, leg a little stiff still, good boost for London
Brill hows that for a prediction
I wasn't quite ready for the hilliness of this event, although I was warned!
