Aiming to pb here, if my pace has recovered.
Fins this race difficult as I lose interest for some reason after 2nd turnaround before the farm track.
***UPDATE*** Maintained intended pace for most of race.
Garemin says 57:48 hoping official is similar, should be a pb
Offical time 57:56 so happy with that, makes the next attempt at 57:30 a possibility
A 2 second PB, which is good, but didn't break the 55 minute mark. Was on the right pace for the first 6k or so, then lost it for a couple of k.
Where did that come from?!
Bit lacklustre, but a good time considering recent training and feeling tired. More running miles and speedwork needed. Course a bit dull - only really did this to support the club in the road league.
This was a terrible run last year so to beat 1.08 would be great but a pb of 1.04 would be even better and yes I did it absolutely delighted as this was my first race back after injury and I had not trained as much as I would have liked. Just 30 secs off my silver club standard -
mile splits 5.12 5.31 5.25 5.29 5.28 5.28 .56, I went through 5k in 16:41 so second was 16:49.
Got the club bronze standard - needed under 44mins - woohoo!
had a good run, felt good till 8k then started to struggle but was still overtaking people. came second scoring ladie, got lovely glass wear for cabinet.
Good race, didn't go too mental, so it felt good!
