clairevmc Pleased enough with this. 38.xx would have been nice but I'm getting closer to my previous times (baby now 5 months old). Nice day for a race - quite windy though. Hamilton Harriers, Scottish Veteran Harriers 37:58 38:44 39:06 76.61

Smout Decided to give Sub 40 a bash. No matter what I'd PB I was sure :p

Wasn't to be today but glad I did - felt a bit rubbish by 3k and thought I was going to keel over soon by about 6.5 but still hung on for almost 5 minutes off my 45:15 PB :o) Portobello RC, UKnetrunner 38:59 40:20 40:30 40:20 73.83

justcol Note to self 'Wife and kids pre race add stress'

Started too far back, but by end of first straight I was going (too fast) with the flow. Another big straight down to the docks with an up and over railway bridge. A left hander set us off on another long straight (with slight head wind), this is where the head started to go!?! found myself in a group of 5 (all shapes and sizes) used these few to get me back up to the motorway! Left to big straight past Zetland park(6k) and some local chanting (abuse) which helps focus the mind. Left-hander into last BIG straight 7k > 8k the road past the stadium until the turning point was long and hard but 'our' group seen me through. 9k and feeling good, note to self I do not like hurting, I am striding along after the u-turn straining my eyes for the turn for the stadium....I see it 4-500m left, the big fella from cosmic hill bashers is off and I pick it up (just a little) round the corner and I start to go our group is broken, the big man is too far ahead I am catching but not enough. Garmin says 38.35 chip said 38.36 I would have happily taken any of these pre race. Now to find the wife and cherubs and burn some rubber back to Stirling, I have people waiting in the pub for lunch and the game. Missed the first half hour but had a laugh great day thank you VICS. edso90 Garmin time. Very happy with this run. Was aiming for an average of 6.50 for first 5 and then see what was left. I feel I should have maybe pushed on a wee bit in middle miles and was too cautious but stuck to the plan. Nice PB and a 70 percent WAVA! Edinburgh Athletic Club 41:43 41:43 42:04 68.32

mairi.h Disappointed not to hit my target time, but I did beat PB. 8th F40 I guess isn't so bad for 3 months' training. Note to self: must train harder! Nice to see some fetchies running good- been trying to match faces to nicknames.

Dvorak Went ok, course best, neg split, about what I wanted. Started a little cool but sun came out partway. Almost flattened a couple of people on the line (can't resist a sprint finish). Nice to meet some Fetchies including a couple of new ones Unaffiliated 48:39 53:25 54:33 53:25 53.80
