in training since June and its HARD Training
training has went well through the summer and starting to find some speed which has given me a new half pb 1.21.11.. hope i can carry it through to Berlin!!
Ambition rules - not sure whether its really feasible but lets knock a few more mins off pb - cant be as bad weather this time .
OK - this is the one where I am going to break the 5 hour mark! Sincere apologies to all who bet on me, gave it verything I had but it wasn't enough, hate making excuses though but back hurt like hell from half way! Lovely city, lovely course!
Very pleased to make it round, all be it very slowly!
Ran/Walked it! Fell over a cone at the 15k timing mat.
Fairly pleased given relative lack of training for last 8 weeks
My legs never got going from the start, also too warm for my liking.
Lost about a minute having a wee in the first mile!
Good course, great atmosphere, loved it. Bit cramped though.
First 5K dodging round people and being elbowed in the head by men, then developed a stitch and had to slow. Tried to pick up the pace later only for the stitch to become unbearable and had to walk
Not sure this marathon is ideal for petite women... it's very crowded and something like 36,000 men to 4,000 women so I got knocked about quite a bit.
Sorry if you bet on me
My first full marathon. Aiming for 4 hours but only time will tell if that is realistic. Running with Gareth, Matt, Claire, Emma and Kate. First race abroad.
Unseasonably warm weather today, and no rain like last year, all combined to slow me down over the last 10k
A new personal best by a few seconds, but slightly disappointed not to get my target time.
Apologies to those Fetchies who might have placed bets on me.
Ar$e or yay depending on how I'm feeling big PB just not big enough to make me really happy!
Thanks to a mad dash in the final 2km - got around under 3h40. Felt good until 28km, then had to adopt the walk/ run strategy. Bit too much sun/ too hot for my liking
A hot and very crowded race
Race started well. On track for sub 3:35 until 23 miles, but couldn't sustain pace. A bit warm but not as bad as Brighton in April. Brilliant race though with lots of atmosphere. The bands were excellent and the crowds fantastic.
Very pleasing run in the Berlin Marathon, came 154th and 10th in my age group. Felt very good and had a fast finish.
