This is not a poor replacement for VLM entry cock up. This is THE marathon to do. The world famous Lochaber! *Update. Sheesh! That was hard! Got the time I came for but hot n tricky! Nice to see lots of fetchies! :-)G
Run walk from 18 - see blog for more!
Plan to run just inside PB pace, say 8:40mm and keep going as long as I can to dip under 3:48
Update: 4:16 - I still don't know what happened. 1st half in 1:53 on plan, then tTurned round and just fell apart. Was in a state until 19/20 then got into a slow running rythm from there to the finish.
first time marathoner - oh help!!!
Good race. Pace fell off at mile 23 when I knew sub 2.55 was out the window. 17th place (might have been 18th)
Ran the first half steady and felt good, got to 16 miles when I started to suffer and had a awfully bad stitch. I found it impossible to continue to run. From then on I had to walk/jog to the finish. Just one of those days
Dont ask, this was awful!
20 miles PB of 2:27:44
2nd place for 2nd year in a row and took 2nd team prize..
Scottish Veteran Marathon champion.
£150 for 2nd place.
Crate of lager for 2nd team prize.
Warm up for the Highland Fling Ultra. Ran steady 9 min mile pace off the back of 24 miles on the West Highland Way previous day. Hot weather so pleased with outcome.
