what an absolute nightmare trying to get chip/number before the start no organisation they couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery.

anyway went off a little to fast so struggled last 3 miles but new pb by over 70s so well happy
HappyG(rrr)
In. Right, this needs to be in PB territory for build up to Lochaber. Fingers crossed. Update 5/1/11 - pulling out, not in PB shape and long way to go for training! :-)G
frangale
( minute PB and a hug halfway from RichK-what more can a girl ask for:)
DarloRunner
great race!
Dickie York
Bit chaotic collecting the race numbers and chips, but worked, race start delayed by 8-10 ish, so not bad at all.
Great running conditions.
Got on the back of group running 6.00 min/miles ish, normally a bit quick for me, thought I would see how it felt after a couple of miles then ease up a bit. All came together on the day, kept the pace even aroun 6.05min/mile.
Massive PB by about 3.30min!
1 hour 19 min 59 sec. 62nd of 1561 finishers.
Mrs Jigs (Luverlylegs)
It was good to have the opportunity to enter this race, one I have been wanting to do for a while :-)
SpeedySoph
Enjoyed that race- felt great throughout!
Non-runner
OMG despite training being pretty poor with snow and flu etc, managed to beat even the Amsterdam time and new PB!! Great race, very well marshalled and facilities at Yorks Races, well done Knavesmire Harriers.
PamB
Should have done more training... Got round though!!
Meglet
Missed out last year due to injury. Aiming for a PB to kick-start VLM training.

So not a PB, or anywhere near, but a good solid training run and felt pretty good all the way round. Perfect conditions.
Grid
Brass Monkey Half Marathon 2011. Target: a comfortable 2:00:00. I found a very comfortable 8:30/mile pace early on which was far faster than I'd planned for, and then pushed to get under 1:50 in the last half of the race. It was meant to be a training run, and it felt like it for the first half of the race - I just indulged myself in the second half! Decent result, but pleased that my HR was well behaved. It's a PB by a decent distance, although 6 seconds/KM off my Cardiff "HM" pace.
mikep
Following cancelled races in November and December, curtailed training due to snow, ice and yet another twisted ankle I will be treating this as a training run with company.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Went better than I expected. Set off with Sarah, Alison and Jill at a targeted 8 min pace. We found ourselves going much faster. Both Alison and I are nursing dodgy ankles so let Sarah and Jill shoot ahead. We held a very even pace and went past Jill at 8 miles. Alison realised she was on for a PB at 10 and we manged to keep up the pace until around 12 when she dropped back off the pace a bit but she still got her PB.

Good stamina builder.
Dodgy ankle ached but other than that all good.
Probably need a visit to the chiro this week to get me in a passable shape for Ferriby next week.

Glad to be able to say hello to so many Fetchies.

New PB. Felt awesome!
georgenick
Injured - DNF only completed 7 miles
Rigel
Felt a bit crap before the race and so just ran a steady pace. Got dropped by club mates from the start but managed to catch back up and overtake a couple so not a bad result. Legs felt very heavy by mile 11 but managed to keep pace going and finish in an okay time.
Drifter
Perfect conditions, 40:15 to halfway, pushed hard miles 10-13 and just sneaked under 80 mins! Chuffed :-)
Black Cat
Went better than expected and really enjoyed it.
Watcho
Brilliant run, good conditions, very disorganised getting your number
ktj
Pulled hamstring last week and can't see me getting round in one piece so lazy weekend at home instead.
Northern Exile
Bollocks.

Got their in plenty of time to collect no. and chip. Could see potential for problems later on mind when it got busier. Start was delayed about 10 minutes which may have been as a result of the new arrangements. Lack of training and the remains of a week long cold which kept me awake last night didn't bode well. I know I couldn't achieve my predicted time but thought a PB was on the cards. Got to halfway in 51minutes clock time. Stepped it up between 7 and 8 to test out possibility. Managed to keep it going for a few more miles but started to struggle from 11.5 onwards. Last mile was tough but decided to just go for it and achieve PB by 2 mins 43 secs. Suffered for it afterwards. Didnt feel good on the drive home and knackered now.
Crazy Lady
first time and a PB by 23 mins!
