Steady start. Good lies 3-6. Struggled around 10m but held on for 14th and 4th tbac runner. Not bad considering.
Chippenham Half 1.36.09. wanted to run as a training run - went out at a good race pace but faded after 9 miles and fell just before finish going on to a kerb - probably cost about 20s but was tired anyway. 6.26, 7.09, 6.54, 7.04, 7.12, 14.35, 7.26, 7.30, 7.34, 7.47, 7.56, 7.33.
Could have jacked....feet were in clip and a dicky stomach.
I was doing great up until 12.5 miles when my calf decided it didnt want to go any further, manged to limp home.
sorry for those who bet on me, i was well within target too.
Not as flat as I'd hoped and VERY windy- just made it though!
Pretty windy on the back leg, dropped the speed down a little slower than I would have wanted.
Was a tough race, just like last year.
Felt exhausted all week leading up to the race, had a tough 32 mile bike ride 2 days before, worked way too hard on speed sessions without getting enough rest
Strong wind against us this time - everyone seemed to suffer.
Had to walk every mile after 5 miles, no energy at all, but still beat last years time by 2.5mins
Injury after Edinburgh meant lack of training affected performance so 1hr 50m was a good result
More hilly/undulating than the website suggested & not a PB course IMO, some long incline drags & was fairly windy in places which didnt help.
Difficult to assess what shape im in after this run, feel i should of run quicker but off the back of no taper & some decent mileage this is most likely a fair result given the circumstances.
Fllippin windy in the last 4 miles!
Died over the last 5km
