Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

9th Marathon / 1st Kingston M. My sister lives 2.5 miles from Kingston and I knew I could do a better time - if only I didn't cramp up or need the loo! This was the day Paula broke the world record in Chicago - and just to make it really memorable, I'd come up from Cornwall with Ronnie James, local running legend, who has won half of the 28 odd marathons he has run. Annie & Steve made us very welcome, loads of lovely food & wine (not too much the night before ...) and dropped us off in a chilly Kingston at 7am - marathon start time 8am. Perfect weather - wet, but not windy! Ronnie WON (2:29) - and broke the course record! (which was held by another Cornishman)

I did need the loo and I did have to stretch - but this was still a PB by 17 mins!!!
