this is watch time! was ok for first 6 miles did'nt particular enjoy from then on, one of those days
Very even splits - thanks to a lady hare!
Last part of a 20M session. Splits - 9:21, 9:15, 9:18, 9:19, 9:17, 9:27, 9:17, 9:23, 9:15, 9:10, 9:01, 8:53, 8:43, 0:54 (8:12/m @ 0.11m) (Time on race results - 2:00:05)
hamstring tightened up alarmingly after 9 miles...had to jog/limp in....disappointing time
Going from Twickenham - happy to give people lifts to (and obv from) - Fmail me
Great run in difficult conditions.
Helped along by several generous people who kept my spirits up and/or distracted me!
Slight cold - runny nose. Went out fast for 6 miles to give myself cushion in 2nd half. Just enough. I always find last 3-4 miles a struggle - need longer training runs possibly.
Great race, felt good and great training run for the Marathon.
Chip time better than Garmin so I'll have that
Pacing work with Matt, not quite to plan but he worked hard
Great race.......6.40s for first 5 mile, then 6.50s up to 9, then turned into the wind and dropped to 7.15s.
Bit slower that I thought I would done but it was very windy so no good for me.Now run this race 20 times.
target half - all bombs hit targets - returning to base
Much better than expected but still work to do
Paced club colleague round for a target sub 1.40 PB. Finished in 1.38.46, so he was well chuffed! Strong training run for me, and another step towards being at full fitness. I felt like I could have gone round much quicker, which is good news. Organisation a lot better than last year, enjoyed the run. Will be back next year to kick it's ass.
Cracking run, bit of a fast start but managed to stay steady around mid 6.40's, started tiring around 10 but managed to kick on in last mile
Lousy weather...cold, windy and damp. My brain wasn't in this at all on the day...and considered my body ill-prepared for it. However, it wasn't quite as painful experience as St Neot's last year though it shouldn't have been a huge surprise as I did that race on 3 weeks of training after no running allowed for 4 weeks earlier.
Decided to make it a LSR instead of a PB attempt. Stomach issues, or would have been sub-2
Nice race made even nicer by running with Garfield (thank you so much)
A very enjoyable race, quite windy with lot's of drizzle.
Love this race!!
Local half marathon, first one in a year!
Better than I expected after all the reports of baggAge chaos last year. Wind and rain can't be helped , and overall I thought a really good event. Hot drink at the end was much appreciated, but quite an expensive event for what you get.
Watch time not chip time
Really tough race for me as I slight knee problem
Just hoping to get back well under 2 hours after a disastrous Marlow Half! Good pointer for VLM.
12min @ easy pace before start.
race @ marathon pace.
30min @ easy pace afterwards.
Felt harder than it should have!
Plenty to work on before April...
Good organisation overall. Generally flat circuit which was pretty much traffic free (some roads were closed), plenty of Marshalls and good support. Minor criticisms were the start of the race was quite narrow and there was no goody bag just a medal, bottle of water. The free cup of tea was good especially on this wet and slightly windy day. Good potential for a PB on this route.
298th Pos. PB!
1.59.58 by my watch but official gun and chip times were both way out.
The objective was under 2 hours. The plan was to run a constant 9 min mile pace, and it worked a treat. We were about 20 secs behind the pace at mile 10 and feeling tired. But once over the motorway bridge, there was a long, gentle, mostly downhill stretch as far as mile 12.
Thought I'd just missed my PB, but the chip time gave me a PB by 2 seconds!!!!
Decided to run this race the day before. Ran fast but not to the limit mostly with short strides. Paced well and managed a sprint finish. PB by 4 mins (previous pb Reading '10: 1:33:04)
sore left calf
Chip time 20 seconds quicker than watch time - did the chips activate at the right point?
Really nice course, country lanes all the way and pretty much traffic free all the way. Only criticisms are the narrow start (but good organisation meant all went well) and the poor "goody bag" (there wasn't one). Just a medal and bottle of water!
Wet, cold and hilly! Not much in the way of training either...
A very unexpected PB!
Unable to train the week before. still got knee problems
My first ever took this cautiously. Was so pleased with my time
