Yog-Sothoth First race of the 2006 Grand Prix series, and my first time racing at this distance. First mile (downhill) was a bit too frantic at sub-6 minutes, so I slowed down a bit for the next four to keep my powder dry (difficult in all the rain!). Had the satisfaction of overhauling a few guys who had nipped past me before the halfway stage (nice big hill at that point). Tried to keep the pace high for the remainder of the race, and succeeded in beating my target of 1:08. Yipee! Unaffiliated 1:04:29 1:07:41 1:08:00 1:07:51 67.71

paskha Cornish GP race No. 1 - difficult time of year, when I did nowt in December!! Somehow though, thanks to Beccie (my older son's girlfriend) for dragging me to the gym!! I did a course best by over 2 mins, passing people near the finish .... it was a COLD WINDY day, and I never really got warm in shorts and a short-slv cycling top (under club vest) It seemed we had a headwind for 7 miles on the single loop course, but that helps me as I cope with a headwind by pushing myself more. And it won't deplete me unless it's a long event, eg. a marathon. Mounts Bay Harriers 1:26:24 1:32:00 1:35:00 1:32:00 64.03
