Pacing this event, 11 minute miling, watch out for me if you want to have a giggle and support and looking to finish in 2 hours and 24
it was great running with so many people, i saw a fetchie, rhubarb, it was great meeting you.
well done to all!!
ran all the way round despite planning a walk-run
Excellent event, very well organised ! Cooooold at the start, but soon warmed up when the race started (10 min delay).
Set off too fast, but deliberately pushed it to see what happened - splits were 10km at 40m 19s (PB time at 10km) then 10miles at 1hr 05m 38s (PB at 10 miles) but time fell apart in last 4km - started running 4m 23s kms at 18km, plus ran 300m further than HM distance - must have been due to the twists and turns, so that accounted for a bit of time - normally takes me ~30s beyond 13 miles, today took over 2mins.
Overall an excellent day out, good weather for the event, highly recommended to anyone.
Suffering with a cold and chesty cough probably shouldn't have run...
Set out at 7:39mm pace aiming for sub 1hr 40min but started to slow from about 8 miles.
well chuffed - seven minutes quicker than last year !!!!
Good race, ran well but my hips were hurting after 10 miles. Pleased with the time.
Garmin logged this as 13.26mi. 13.11 = 2:01:20 13.26 = 2:02:31 (not including pit-stop en-route!)
Duke of Drayton
Done the 10k here a few times looking forward to doing the half and getting a look at the new pit complex up close.
Great race on a lovely sunny spring day - loved the whole experience!
OMG - First half Marathon... Entered today (3rd October) gives me 5 months to improve my times and mileage. Lomgest run to date 8 miles.....only 5 more to go.. As for the time, well i think i will concrentrate on finishing first and time second..
This was my first half & did not enjoy it whatsoever. Think I will stick with the shorter ones. This one was hell
Dodgy tum and sore knee slowed me up.....
Garmin time 1:55:42.
Cracking race. PB'd by nearly 3 minutes so dead chuffed with time. Spent this morning trying to see where I could have gone quicker! Next year's target is a sub -1.55
Garmin reported 13.32 miles in 2:09:29 so pretty damn accurate!!!
Felt good today, last few miles tough but had raced much quicker than 6 52 min miles to allow for extra mileage. Had sports massage on Fri and day of rest Sat think this all helped.
Run went as planned, paced a buddy around for close to a 2hr finish and put in quicker few miles towards the end. Good value for money event but was very busy around the course.
Quite happy to get round with the ankle injury died a little in the last few miles but no walking at least
Been struggling with Left knee, hampered training. Get round this one & it will be a triumph of injury management, rather than a another slice off my PB.
Just missed my target!! Nevermind the knee didn't overly play up & was probably the best it's felt for a while.
Looking at following the 8 mile marker for as long as possible!!! We'll see..........
So what happened... followed the 1:45 for as long as I could but the pace at the end was hard to keep. Last two miles were a killer but i'm chuffed to have got under 1:50!
Using this as a pacing run 8 weeks before a marathon, entered online 28-12-10
Boring course, nothing to do at start apart from stand around. No shelter anywhere if it rains and jobsworth in jacket moving us on all the time. 3 Hour drive, Travelodge at Upton Way great place to stay 30 minutes from circuit
Pretty happy with my first effort. Was always ahead of where I'd planned to be timewise, it started to become more difficult around mile 10 but fortunately I was able to hold on and finish reasonably strongly.
7th overall, won my age category, 57 second PB. Would've been more but lost 6th place at the 10 mile mark and struggled on my own in the headwind for the last 5k.
joined 11mm pace group - maybe should have gone up one
Top 5% (314 out of 6340)
Garmin distance: 13.34 miles. Wish I hadn't played football the day before as had to run with a dead leg but luckily it eased off fairly early on. Smashed my PB!
Great run aiming for PB of 1h40m, stepped it up with 2 miles to go and broke 1h39m
Went off far too fast, goodness knows why, hated it all the way round though the 13.12 miles time is almost as good as Wokingham which surprised me as I struggled.
First ever race ,well since school 34 years ago.A bit windy and boring but a good first half marathon and raised money for cancer research uk.
Good steady start at 7.45 for mile one, then settled in to a steady 7.14 per mile pace that lasted the duration
I knew I could do 8 min miles over a shorter distance and I saw a pace setter at the start with a 8min board so thought I would try to keep him in my sites and if I couldn’t hold on towards the end then so be it. At 10 miles I started to feel it and at 11 miles everything hurt, but I just kept telling myself its only 15mins, it’s only 14mins 30, it’s only … time was definitely going slowly at this point and I was looking at my watch more and more frequently. But I managed to hold on and finished in 1:44:36 which I was really chuffed with, so I treated myself to a big mcdonalds on the way home!
