This event is listed on these dates:
First half in over a year
Hated every minute of it from mile 3.5 onwards. Preparation and tactics wise, one of my worst races.
Training run and will be pacing a clubmate round
Had a good race. Paced it pretty much perfectly, even though it's my first half marathon since March. Faster than I'd done at the start of the year when marathon training, and a strong finish. Feeling a lot more confident now.
A PB - not sure where that came from!
Good conditions though a cold breeze noticeable. Well organised as ever
St.Neots Half - went off too quick chasing a PB....ended up having my slowest half in the last 4!!
Possibly. Update nearer the time
Treated this as a long slow run...and during the race I treated it as the last half of a marathon to mentally dig in.
Paced Dingdong with swerver to PB!
Entered 4/6/10 (£16) * flouresent yellow longsleeve tech top and goody bag*
Always have a good run here, even with the hills.
DNS. Sudden knee stabbing pains on Friday night. Didn't feel too bad on Sun at 7 am but decided it was probably asking for trouble to run. Given the twinges from just hanging around at home today, think it was the right call. See you next year, I hope. I've entered this race four times;two PBs, two DNS!
This will be a PB attempt.
And it would probably have been a small PB had those last three miles been *slightly* more downhill and had *slightly* less of a head wind. But no excuses. Conditions were excellent and I just wasn't good enough. By thirty-eight sodding seconds!
An impeccably organised race, as always, and a great Fetchfest.
Felt really strong today... thanks for the pacing group for holding me back in the first 6 otherwise would have gone off too quick. Pushed on from 6 as felt strong and never really had a bad patch. Last mile was a real dig in though to ensure sun 1:30. Still can't believe I've done it!!!!!
Good solid run, just tried to keep to 6 minute miles and felt pretty good for the whole race. I think I was 8th not 7th as on the results.place.But I was the 1st M50 with a time of 1:18:22. Course is undulating and also a bit windy today so happy enough with that, certainly ran a lot better than last year. C&C did really well today, 3 team prizes, 1st M40, 1st M50 and 3rd lady!!
Pootling this one to just enjoy the run. :0)
My first half marathon so I have to be pleased. Thanks to Riverside Runners for an excellent event.
Flat Out Fi
Didnt do it in the end as decided to do XC race instead!!
Finally felt like a runner in today's race. 1:46:25 Half marathon.. 17 mins faster than yesterdays Half marathon:). Negative splits the entire way!!! 1st 5 miles was 42:20 2nd 5 miles was 40:15 Last 3 miles in about 23 minutes (7:40 pace). Also today makes 130 miles run in last 9 days;)
yet again well run day , great race. had to work so hard for that time, legs did not wanna know from the first mile !
damn that was close!!
Suprised by 2nd place and very pleased with PB. Despite this diappointed not to go <75 today; Bedford...
Hoping to break 2 hrs at the first attempt.
Ok maybe not. A bit harder than I had anticipated, but at least it gives me a target for a pb!
Mon pm - Been annoyed about my time all day. Reasonably comfortable sub 9 minute miles (thanks 2hr pacer lady), then completely blew up at the top of the last hill in Abbotsley and shuffled in pain all the way to the finish. I guess my training wasn't good enough. Back next year!!!
Disappointed. Wanted a PB and at half way was on course. Let the hills slow me up a bit in miles 7-10 expecting to be able to push pace from 10-finish (all gradual down hill) but wind resistance put paid to that, really struggled to maintain the 7:3X pace when effort should have given 7:0X pce in those miles. hey ho. Fantasticly organised race with a friendly vibe and lovely countryside scenary.
had a good race, really pleased , faded at 11 -12 miles
First time I have actually peaked for a race, think I understand what is required now. Beat last years time by just under 10 minutes.
3rd best and 21st sub 85 in 38th HM
ooooo so disapointed did not go sub 1.50 but I might just scrape in as this is from the clock and it took forever to hit the mat.... I have a feeling I have missed it 'too much wine' but v happy as that is another pb for me which I guess as I have only ran 13 + miles once since March not bad going
Very nice well organised race thank you for making my first HM so enjoyable.
1st race back since ultra in Aug after a number of months injury with 14-15 runs over 90 miles..... Still not happy though. UltraJ did a trail half in 1:22....
Tough conditions, cold/wind and stiffling humidity over the last 3 miles.
Glad to get under 2 hrs just as training after GER took a dip due to hols at beginning of Nov
