hot hot hot, probably the hardest half i have ever done

What an excellent half! Hills galore and temperatures approaching the mid 20s but so what: it only adds a few minutes to your normal time. A scenic and varied route, clearly marked, perfectly marshalled and with ample water stations. The route (which was displayed at race HQ on several huge maps) takes in rural roads and quiet lanes, stoney tracks, the busy shopping steet of Grange, the popular tourist and racecourse village of Cartmel, good views and pretty countryside. The hardest climb, less than 2 miles from the end, is rewarded by a gallop down the village to the finish is the playing field. Full marks for the organisers. This race will grow from strength to strength once people get to know about it.

Nice race - too hot for me this year. The hills at 5 and 12 miles will take some climbing whatever the weather.
