Its out clubs race, so would be rude not to do it.
The course where I first went under the hr, so hoping I have a chance of getting close to, if not squeaking a pb if it's not too hot.
***Update*** PB thoughts were abandoned in yesterday's heat. Minced round as fast as I could in scorching temperature. Was happy to come in as predicted in around the hr.
Far too hot and had breathing difficulties.
First 10k since NYE 2009, hopefully recent marathon training will have given me a good base to build my speed on shorter races.
Hot day, had some breeze / wind at sections of course and wooded trail section best bit!
Really enjoyable race Gun time (36.10) Garmin time (36.08) both are pbs really really happy about how the race went especially with the hot sunny weather.
The marshalls at the end of the race were great handing out lots of bottles of water and the goody bag was filled with fun treats
Garmin time 44:53. Very well organised and friendly race - Bushy did themselves proud. Pleased with my efforts given the heat today - didn't expect a PB, but feel I did well. Think I was 8th lady and 92nd overall. Groin niggle held up fine and gave no problems.
Quite pleased with this given the conditions?
bloody hot lol
extremely hot, windy and undulating course but smashed my pb so was absolutely delighted. Gelt great to 5k and then struggled 6-7 better again and then sprint finish.
warm windy 22nd of 3xx. Well done to PaulH who won and broke course record.
Much slower than expected. Asthma kicked in halfway through second mile, after which it was not much fun. Surprised by how fast I managed and how many people john and I passed in the second half.
Over 2 minutes away from PB - it was so hot.
Despite the wind, this was a very hot race and so not surprisingly most (including me) struggled on second half! Enjoyable race though, and looking forward to a 7 mile version next year.
