Gandhi Lovely route. Found the undulations pretty tough after Snowdon last week. Think I must be getting too old for this lark , but still glad I did it. Some would say they weren't hills , but to me a speed bump is a hill when I'm three quarters of the way round a marathon . :) Legs were shot at the end........ That's my lot now. Finished. IronGirl Great start with a 1:45 first half, loved the Peninsula first time round, just my sort of thing. Then a hamstring / piriformis niggle that I'd been nursing decided to play up.... a pain in the bum quite literally. Was tight 2nd time around the Peninsula and plain agony for the last 8.5 miles home. Ouch! But loved the course and will go back sometime and have another go. israeltherunner Rutland Water marathon race. Started out ok, sort of average, but got horribly slow about mid-way through and walked that last 12 miles or so, was miserable, been racing so much lately, marathons nearly every weekend, and 82 miles next weekend. Jo-bee That was a tough one, my 2nd marathon and stupidly had hoped to PB here as didn't know alot about the route. Underfoot was very stony in many places which after a while made my feet really hurt and the hills!!!!!
