Nice conditions today although feet a bit bloody after a bashing on the hard ground!! Knocked a half minute of last years time although was suprised it wasnt more as ran a a much tighter race than last year . but happy enough although was hoping to go sub 50 though so lots to do for next years season!! Ach well one more xc race at Peebles next week then back to boring old tarmac!
RichyC
Fairly happy with run today. Slowed a bit throughout as usual in xc but overall pretty decent. Was bang on a minute down on last year but looking back at time/distance shows a weird comparison. Last yr: 7.17m in 46.27 average pace 6.29 (6.08 6.18 6.17 6.45 6.45 6.37 6.46 0.51) This yr 7.52m in 47.27 average pace 6.19 (6.06 6.14 6.11 6.21 6.27 6.34 6.35 2.58) Course didn't seem any different so maybe I just ran smarter last yr!
Hyperboy
brilliant race

Was hoping for better but cant have it that way all the time.Never have I been in the top 40 & again missed that target.Took 43rd.Although I struggled all week with a headcold & felt better near the day but felt it on top of the 1st hill.Knew from there on in it was just a matter of holding on.Made the team as 5th counter but again for the 2nd year in a row we were 4th team.
Course is good.Tough sections which make you dig in for the reserves but nothing there for me today.Wrong size of spikes in for some parts of the course but right size for other areas.

Had what felt like a really good race 6.03 mile avg 104th place compared to 6.06 avg place last year, got the 6th counter place for Bella and seemed to be well up the field in faster conditions. Time was surprisingly about a minute down then discovered the course had been extended by a quarter of a mile, can’t think where though.
HBNS
158th from 447 finishers. Very poor run today, struggled for a number of reasons.

134th place. good course, slippy in places. big field again. beer after it was worth the run.

Not my greatest race to be frank. Effort was there, but knew from about a lap in it wasn't to be. Feeling really fit just now though so I'll put it down to the legs being a tad tired due to the Marathon training kicking in, and hopefully come back stronger soon. Excellent runs by a number of folk, and a cracking course so all in all the day wasn't too bad. Finished 117th.

Thank goodness i never predicted a time for this, had hoped for a quicker time than last year but alas 62 seconds slower. Not sure what happened, felt sluggish about 6 mile, legs just seemed to tighten up, woke up towards the finish but a bit too late. Shame as i like this course and apparantly this was the last year of it being held their due to sponsorship.
AlanO
Splits - 16.10, 16.50, 17.13. Very disappointed. Felt good before hand. Felt okay in the 1st lap, had a terrible 2nd lap, thought I rallied in the 3rd lap only to find out I was slower again. Overtaken by 20-30 runners over laps 2-3. Things can only get better.
ian9657
400th out of 447 and 6th counter for Killie who placed 20th team
jamborigg
Pleased to see progress from last year almost 1 and a half mins quicker than last year .Felt strong all the way thru it altho the hills are a bit of a leg sapper lol .Kept heart rate up in the 150s so was pleased with that
Hamsterwheel
A good 2mims slower than last year but I am sure it was not as muddy lasts year well that's my excuse and I am sticking to it.Never mind you can't have a good race every time you put on a number.Oh plus the garmin said it was .37 miles longer than last year but can't think where.
