Borrowdale Fell Race

northern_runner A pretty poor performance. Was going OK, but without much zip until Great Gable, and then found that climb harder and longer than I remember from last year. Made an annoying navigation error off Green Gable, and must have lost 20 minutes or so, plus a lot of energy. The race was then on to make the cut off, and I arrived at Honister Pass with just 5 minutes to spare, but nothing left in my legs. Great event though, and I'll be back next year with a few more hills in my legs next time! Bowland Fell Runners, BRJ Run and Tri 4:52:10 5:00:00 5:43:50 25.18

SPKoF 50 mins down on 2009 time - bad cramp from corridor onwards. Stopped me dead in tracks on Grey Knotts. Had to walk down part of Dale Head. Not a good day. Classing it as a success as 3 of our club had to retire (not timed out - just retire) Long Eaton Running Club 3:02:28 3:02:28 5:14:04 24.70
