Pleased with the race. Felt I would be about 55 on the day, but followed Gogsy! for the first two thirds (till he got away). Dry and breezy, intermittent sun, not the gale I had feared. Good to run with Magbag and Kevhoop for the first stretch as well and high fives to :-)G for support.
Feeling great just now much fitter and faster than this time last year so it should be an interesting year.So looking to pb everything i do this year distance wise
Sunbed Athlete
Took 11th place my highest ever to date @ this race plus also a course PB as never before ran under 33mins.Worked hard with the group, mainly to stay intouch plus to shelter from the wind.Wind there between 2k & 7k then again 8.5k to the finish.Took a few scalps so pleased with todays effort.10 points towards the Grand Prix series again my highest ever starting race amount gathered.
Thanks to Halfways & Calimero for the car ride back to Glasgow.
Coz I can
No problems - except wind round the last straight! managed to run a much better race than usual - keeping tabs on most of the folk I wanted to but lost the 'big' group just coming round the corner to 7K. Feeling good for rest of season - fastest time for a wee while so that alone must be ok...
baz p
who left the wind on!!! hard from 2k to 4.5k, and from 9k to finish. started too fast!
Mr. White
Well pleased with my time, not run at any sort of pace for nearly 6 months! Great to see everybody :)
Bit hard into the wind ,but still managed to pull a wee pb out the bag so pleased with that
Well that was pretty Dire. First proper road race in about 6 months and it showed as lacked pace all the way through and was well off the mark....Got to say didnt like this course one bit as too flat and dull and no scenery, I couldnt tell you what any of it looked like after leaving the stadium.Good organisaion though from Falkirk Viks which cant be faulted. and good support from Gav and also great tocatch up with FB whos up and running again after a long layoff. Fecked my watch at the start so a guess at chip time
1st 10k since sept and felt the distance! Wind in face the 1st 4k then had it behind from 5-8.5k then the last wee bit home into wind again. Picked up 2nd F35 prize so not too bad a morning. :-)
Enjoyed the flattish course but the strong breeze took its toll over the last mile. Hoped for around 55 today but thanks to my pacemakers of Kevhoop & Dvorak, I managed to do a bit better. Big thanks to HappyG for the one man Fetchpoint - you definitely raised my spirirts on that last stretch. Good to meet so many other Fetchies today, too - hope your ankle stood up to the punishment Magbag.
Finally break my stubborn 10k PB after well over a year by 5 seconds, but disappointed not to be doing sub 35 by now even with the head wind.

Mile splits - 5.28 5.41 5.43 5.34 5.32 5.49 1.21(5.22) you'd never guess the miles that were into the wind.
Had hoped for sub 42 but the wind put paid to that. Pleased with my tactics tho and couldnt have done much better today.
stretch 212
I enjoyed this race hope it kick starts me running again
Very Windy
warm weather. flat course. no garmin. ben ran his first race today - 2k.
Mainly flat around Grangemouth.
icd runner
