Perfect Organism I'm afraid to say it didn't go well and I really didn't enjoy the race apart from the few points where I saw my friends running or cheering from the sides.

I think it was doomed from the start. I've had a cold since Wednesday and I didn't sleep very well last night. In the race though, I did manage to get into a zone of sorts for the first 6 or so miles but then a few problems arose. Firstly, the lack of energy that I knew was apparent started to kick in. Then I started to get some unpleasant chafage of the gentlemanly variety! And at about mile 8 my feet really started to hurt (I'll really need to get them seen to by a chiropodist). And after that the last 4 miles were just murder.

It's a shame as the support was great, it was a nice day, and the goodie bag was ace, but you win some you lose some! On to Hastings half! Unaffiliated 1:32:38 1:38:19 1:40:00 1:47:31 54.41

Chris_T117 I knew it wasn't my day when I was overtaken by a zebra. From mile 7 I got slower and slower. I watched helpless as the mates I started with, all aiming for sub 1.45 disappeared into the distance. I managed 1.47 at Worthing two weeks ago and I was taking it fairly easy then. In the meantime, a twisted ankle and very little running clearly took its toll. I considered packing it in a few times but finished and I am happy that I did.
Once again, my city did runners proud. So much noise and support from start to finish. Great medal and the inclusion this year of rather lovely finishers t shirt. I'll be back next year. Brighton & Hove City AC 1:44:20 1:47:22 1:42:59 1:52:53 58.06
