This event is listed on these dates:
Started off running within myself at 7.20m/m & then brought it down to 7.12m/m to 5 miles. Felt good at 5 & put in a 7m/m. However, at 8 miles my legs went & struggled very slowly in to the inish even walking a bit.
Ran with RuthB2 - Aiming for 1:20:00. Slightly wrong.
Splits - 7:44, 7:49, 7:40, 7:55, 7:47, 7:47, 7:54, 7:56, 8:15, 7:34, 0:16 (0.05m) - Cracking run
Hills of Death (HOD)
Not in tip top shape and it showed. Poor run - Got to 5 miles at 37.20 mins so you can guess the rest. Did a quick first 3 and felt comfortable. Then started to feel it after half way Hit 10k about 46 mins so that was reasonable given the circumstances. I set a PB it was a PB stopping and walking break I counted 7/8 that's about 3 mins there !! I guess I'm just not fit to carry that pace out for 10 miles was my first PROPER race for about 9/10 months. Another day hey
shocking performance. 50s slower than last hm 10m split. just wasnt there today.
My 10 mile PB and I worked hard for it, but conditions were perfect and the race was brilliantly organised and marshalled
Should of gone quicker.
Sorry! No idea how i managed last years time
Sciatica all way round. Good time considering
Not absolutely flat but pretty flat
Windy in parts
172 of 1055 finishers, winning time 51.17
I liked that run PB *boing*
Bit of a catarstroff on the pacing. Got a bit spooked by the Garmin beeping prematurely at each mile marker, and got scared I might finish a Garmin 10 miles in the predicted 1:22:00 and still have quarter of mile to go. Ran the last mile much tooooooooo fast. So stopped for a bit of larking about near the finish, but it got a bit silly so I had to finish. LOL!
Enjoyed that a lot better than last year, not a PB (but a much better WAVA) as the previous was set at this race 19 years ago!
A great race!! Managed to get under 1:25 so I'm delighted and met some lovely people today. Thanks to ClaireR who helped keep me going!!
going for club record and pb
Nice and scenic!
Tough for first 5 miles - shins loosened up after that and ran the second half faster.
PB - yah je suis improvamont! decent race ok course - bit narrow towards 7-9 miles. wind and rain held off. saw lots of friends past and present. Went for it at the gun 6.22 was too quick really settled to 6.50ish, slowed from 7 miles and didn't enjoy it til last mile. getting there!
My time 1:08:59 , offical chip 1:09:00, Gun time 1:09:20 - now I have to do it again!
Garmin mile splits: 6:05/6:10/6:04/6:19/6:21/6:11/6:19/6:14/6:42/6:16
Asthma played up today but not as bad as the horse that tried to kill me!
Race its self was great and the marshalls were fab, i will defo do it again next year
Heart rate really high whole way round, chest still bad, the loop was souless but will do again next year
nts - wrinkled sock gave me big blister
Halfway in 34.15. Good last mile for a big PB, happy days.
totally pants - see blog
Definitely felt better in this race, mind more focused. Slowed a bit mile 8-9, small incline and very rough path which didn't suit me.
Down on last year (64.50) but ran perfectly even race. 33.30 for each 5m split. teh good things was I didn't fade. Startign to get my form back as a result of Reading hal
f, and a couple of decent long training runs
Very pleased with time, only felt in trouble in 9th mile but picked up for 10th. I really like this course despite the grounddog day start round the business park.
