Took it easy, and felt good
out easy, testing out the achilles for the first 3-4 miles
felt OK, then upped it to PMP for the next 12
caught up and cruied in with Kinky
felt very good and fresh at the end.
First three miles at a relatively easy pace, followed by 17 miles at MP.
Final long run and warm up for Brighton Marathon. Not chip-timed, so have gone with stopwatch time. A very well organised race, on a pleasant country route. A lot of ups and downs, but nothing really horrendous. Felt OK all the way round, and even managed to pick up the pace slightly in the last 5 miles. It did feel a bit odd having to make myself slow down in a race, but I didn't want to get caught up and go off too quickly to find nothing left in the tank at the end. As it is, I finished strongly and could have carried on if necessary (damn glad I didn't have to, though )
Too fast in first half given it was supposed to be a training run. Struggled in the last 2 miles, but took it easy. happy overall though.
A fairly hard, undulating course. After suffering badly following the Edale Skyline last week, this had the potential to be a disaster, but in the end it was a PB race - just!
193 out of 793 finishers
4th, 1st V35. Solid training run, legs were smashed but felt OK.
Complete nightmare Ran the first couple of miles at PB pace but felt rough as soon as 4 miles with bad stomach pain. Ended up walking a lot of lap 2. Amazed I even managed sub 3 in the end!
Warm up and hopefully confidence booster for VLM. Not sure about those 'undulations' though...
Pretty happy with the time, particularly considering the strong headwind on the second lap. Quite tired now though!
Hilly course, bad run for me, weeks cold, followed by holiday definitely took their toll.
Hoping to do 9 minute miles
longest ever run, prep for vlm, hopefully can do this pace?
Great race with near perfect weather - apart from the wind building up a bit on the second lap. Knocked 10min plus off last years time so absolutley delighted. Totally exhausted by the end.. but I guess thats 'cos I averaged a little over 8 min miles when I was planning to do 8:20 - 8:30! Happy!
Garmin Time.... Anyone else have it as 20.08 on their distance?? I must have got lost!
Undulating and quite scenic course - bit lonely on 2nd lap.Good race and a good run
Ran with Abi
Started further back than normal seemed to make it easier overtaking people rather than being overtaken ,good event and hoodie.
Came in at no 666!
Garmin broke down for first 8 miles *@'#**!!
Hills took their toll.
Had tummy troubles from mile 12.
Got second wind last 5 miles of race - must've been the gel kicking in!
beat my predicted time by a minute and a half yipee !!!
Tough race but real lconfidence building.
