This event is listed on these dates:
Completely unexpected PB by 3 seconds
Will be dressed up for this.
a- because I think it will be fun
b - it could be a VLM costume test run
c - it will divert attention from my poor standard of running
Ran round with Mother Twiglet from our club and had a fab race:-) Really chuffed she got a shiny new PB and had lots of fun dressed up as Army Girlie:-)
well, more than 5 minutes slower than my PB - i am well off the pace at the moment
Official time now in. PB to end the year which I'm pretty chuffed about
Ran with Max in his first race, he found it a bit awesome to begin with but did settle, although we had several disagreements on toilet stops!
Went well for the 1st 4 miles, then lost it a bit. But still a PB, and just think what I could do if I'd trained over the last month!
PB unlikely today-exhausted, 7lbs overweight and had inconsistent training. Just out to enjoy it. Actual time a lot quicker than I expected- mainly due to Forest Faerie's excellent pacing!
Got to be pleased with that time when I consider what a bad state my hams and ITB's are in.
And the weather was lovely for running
Crap run. Been ill over Christmas (excuses) and still not fully 'right' with HR+10BPM on yesterdays run (more excuses). Set off according to race plan of 1st KM 20 seconds above pace (downhill) then keep 4 min/Km as long as possible. Running in to the wind bit in to my chesty lungs after the first Km and was never the same. HR ~186 when running 4.15 - something not right, so slowed. KinkyS caught me on the final run in to the line but I did the gentlemanly thing and allowed her a free run in, especially as she said she was on for a PB at that point. (I have to admit that the thought of outsprinting her did go through my mid when I saw her on my shoulder...)
This was my first 10k when I did it in 2008, really enjoyed and is still my current PB. If no injuries then hope to break 44 mins and sign off the year with another PB
Getting under hour was OK having not been able to run much recently. Fast course though hill at 8.5K isn't in the best place. Would like to come back for another go off some proper training and carrying a bit less weight.
Not a startling performance, but consistent with my current running form.
Splits 4:05, 4:07, 4:12, 4:15, 4:16, 4:15, 4:21, 4:20, 4:24, 4:21
Had a very good run today, much time better than I was expecting. 22nd place and first V50. Good way to finish the years running:-)
A nice amble round. Enjoyed the run. Though not the smell when that manure lorry came by, poooey!
Hope I can turn up fit for this one, it would be nice to get a season's best for 10k on the last day of the year!
IN the event, was a bit disappointed with the time, but it was quicker than previous efforts and probably indicates that I'm in reasonable shape to start the 2010 season.....
3rd successive PB at 10K. Sounds good, but I have a sneaking feeling that I'm just running faster courses. That's my second race in a row with a bottle of beer at the finish. Result! Oh, and top fish and chips at Petrou Bros in Ely
cold, tough hard race very happy with my speed
A great race - well marshalled and superb atmosphere. However, it's a great pity that the dog walkers of Little Downham can't clear up the mess left behind by their dogs!
