Berni 1st race for since last May due to injury. 44:10 chip time, 44:58 gun time. First 5k in 21 mins then I felt really sick for a while, thought I might have to give up. Hedge End Running Club 41:04 44:10 45:00 44:10 71.49

JonCPRC A good steady run for me today around a familar course which I have run 5 times in the last 11 years. A good 'recovery' race after bagging a new Half Marathon PB at Reading last week.

My legs felt tight up to 4km, but felt strong on the downhill section bewten 4 & 6km which lasted all the way to 8km where a headwind made it hard work.

A cracking 10K race, my only comment for improvement would be to have some finishing time zones allocated for the starting area, as there were way too many slower runners pushing to be at the front of the startline. Chineham Park Running Club 44:17 47:38 50:00 47:38 56.75
kaichandler I didn't push this as have been down with injuries in second half of 2009 but enjoyed the run and was 5minutes off my pb. It was a well organized run, though the timing chip velcro didn't stick. Maybe I had it on wrong. I had it in my hand, so not sure if I got the start time in as couldn't bend down due to the throng behind me!

Leisure centre toilets weren't up to the demand but later spotted some portaloos outside.

Welcome water, cake and banana to finishers (great idea!) and when I wandered into the centre later, was delighted to find a lovely finisher's teeshirt waiting for me! Oh and massages/stalls as well. What a surprise! Poole Runners 46:17 53:20 52:47 53:20 57.15

RFJ B&Q Eastleigh 10k Report....

All I wanted from this was a good solid run, well I got more... in fact recorded mt 2nd best time for 10K.

Good warm up of 2.5K then off to a very crowded start withmany a fast runner... then the gun goes..

1K - 3:42 ouch thats fast and well ahead of PB pace....
2K - 3:48 settle down nicely and start to work on targets from other clubs (am in 5th from AAC - but then we had 2 of our excellent Jnrs running)
3K - 3:46 ramping it up coz I know the hill is coming..... pass main target now to stay ahead...
4K - 4:03 Spot the hill... a long drag, get to the top, oh no it isnt, round a bend and it carries on....
5K - 3:39 now the down... and time to wwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 18:59 for 5K.
6K - 3:46 Stettle back into pace and pick a few off.
7K - 3:53 into the wind a bit here and hard work
8K - 3:50 start to feel a blister on outside of left foot... grit teeth and move on...
9K - 3:55 dont know what happened here other than wind... trying to push hard but getting nowhere
10K - 3:39 ahhh some speed at last, mainly as was having a right ding dong battle swapped places about 6 times with one lad, knew I had got him with 200m as he just sighed as I went past him again, knew he was beat....

38:05 watch time, not a PB but 2nd best ever time over 10K, so very happy despite hernia, which was totally pain free whilst running.

5th for club so brought the B team home...

HAPPY:-)
