geo3peat Set off too fast, was down the pack and was hampered by the slow start but still got to the mile mark in 7.15, the 2nd mile was just as fast. Was then struggling by 6 and slowing to get me home pace by the 8th mile. Was surprised I did it so fast, I recon I can easily best this with better pacing! Paul W Weight 10st 8 5/8. Finished 1779/4595. 33rd in age group. First day back after Ibiza and I thought all along either I would be well rested and do a good run or I would be in bad shape. In the end it was a disaster. Felt tired right from the start. Started off quite quickly in a bid to give myself of a chance of a fast time. Perhaps I set off too quickly when I wasn't quite fit enough. Legs felt rough at 4 miles and I considered stopping at 9 miles. Was a real struggle to finish. Had a number of little walks. Just a bad day I hope after an eventful week. Perhaps it was too much. Will concentrate on triathlon for a while. Had porridge at 7 a.m. and a gel 15 mins before start. Third of a bottle of Lucozade sport just before start and took rest around with me. Had a gel at 7 miles. Cals 1742. HR av 161, max 173. Laps 7.40, 7.38, 7.58, 7.39, 8.20, 7.59, 8.05, 9.03, 8.45, 9.24, 9.45, 10.12, 9.26. Kathryn did a PB of 2.03. 2681/4595. 10th in age group. Unaffiliated 1:41:09 1:54:20 1:54:20 60.52

Potsie Leading up to the half marathon during training i had a few injury issues concerning my ankle swellling up and lower back pain. However on race day i had no problems with this. I did have a sore throat and bout of headaches a couple of days before which hampered my run.

The race itself was a good race mainly flat but deceptive at the end as every time i thought i was coming to the finish there was an extra bit still to do. For example lapping the outside of the stadium before going in on to the track.
Raised roughly 250 pound for the Strokes Association and run in memory of Bambi 1926-2010 rest in peace Bambi this one was for you.

Chubbz Suffered with very painful stitch and had to walk the majority of the 2nd half of the race. Calf muscles were also giving me some trouble as well as sore feet. Weather was very hot and was wearing long bottoms so felt a bit uncomfortable and definately drank too much which is probably what caused the stitch. A frustrating race as the first 6 miles went quit well. Gainsborough & Morton Striders AC 2:07:30 2:07:30 2:00:00 2:24:27 44.72
