Snitch T Did it!!! First ever marathon. The road to hell was HELL, miles 20 to 24 were tough. Great support and really well organised race. One and only criticism would be a few more loos needed at start. The sun was shining, gentle breeze and no planes in the sky!! Unaffiliated 4:42:06 4:42:06 4:42:06 48.38

mickyursofine I've entered Brighton and London marathons in April, so whatever happens in the ballot I'll be doing one.

In fact I unexpectedly got a ballot place for the VLM - the current plan is to run both!

Time on the Brighton Marathon website was a bit longer than the text they sent on the day! No longer a PB :-( Unaffiliated 3:35:24 3:36:37 3:36:37 60.77

northern_runner Superb race, good organisation and excellent support from spectators. With a cloudless sky it was a bit too warm for me in the (unshaded) second half. Set off at about 3:15 pace, but couldn't keep it going in the second half of the race. Pleased to get under 3:30 for the first time. Cookie001 Was averaging a 2.48 finsh upto mile 21. Faded over the last 5 miles which was probably due to the lack of quality long runs in training. Certainly enjoyed it. Will plan to incorporate more slower long runs into future marathon schedules. Now I've got a sub-3 first marathon under my belt I really want to push on and aim for a sub2.40 in London next year a I should get a guaranteed entry. Slider45 Had a decent race. Perhaps ran a bit too conservately though and was a good few minutes off at half. That said, although there was a bit of slowing in the second half ran fairly evenly (1:26 & 1:28) and avoided the wall despite the mock-up. Time pretty representative of my training. Mandymoo Time of last and first marathon is 4hrs 43 mins - will adjust prediction time depending on training

Hellish hot and tummy problems but very pleased with time considering 20 mins of it was toilet stops. Whitecliffs Athletics and Running Club 4:43:04 5:10:00 4:45:00 5:10:00 45.20
