Cookie001 Was averaging a 2.48 finsh upto mile 21. Faded over the last 5 miles which was probably due to the lack of quality long runs in training. Certainly enjoyed it. Will plan to incorporate more slower long runs into future marathon schedules. Now I've got a sub-3 first marathon under my belt I really want to push on and aim for a sub2.40 in London next year a I should get a guaranteed entry. A tough goal but I really think I've got it in me to achieve it !!!! Bristol & West AC 2:53:02 2:53:02 2:50:00 2:53:02 70.25
Slider45 Had a decent race. Perhaps ran a bit too conservately though and was a good few minutes off at half. That said, although there was a bit of slowing in the second half ran fairly evenly (1:26 & 1:28) and avoided the wall despite the mock-up. Time pretty representative of my training. Thanks for the bets - sorry I lost your credits. Valley Striders AC 2:43:03 2:44:40 2:48:00 2:53:48 70.14

lennoxr Was certain that I would at last break the 3 hour barrier after 22 miles but with 5k to go cramp struck and had to stop and lost loadsa minutes, but still knocked 4 minutes off best so good decision run. Ran with 3 hour group for a while but that just broke up around midway and had to work mostly by myself for the last half. Nice race with great crowd supports. northern_runner Superb race, good organisation and excellent support from spectators. With a cloudless sky it was a bit too warm for me in the (unshaded) second half. Set off at about 3:15 pace, but couldn't keep it going in the second half of the race. Pleased to get under 3:30 for the first time. In fact I unexpectedly got a ballot place for the VLM - the current plan is to run both!
