Steve72 Treated this one as more of a training run than a race and just as well really as I had a nightmare start. Dropped my car keys a few seconds into the start. Carried on for a few paces before I realised what was being kicked about underfoot. Then had to turn around against the tide of 100-odd runners and scramble around for the key! Sincere apologies to anyone I bumped into. Must have dropped down to about 80th, lost a fair amount of incentive to go for a decent position but (after briefly wondering whether to carry on or not) made a decent go of getting up the field. Taking that and the wind into consideration not too bad a time, but could've done better. It was warm and ESE slowed everyone down. I think ENE is a direct headwind off the sea, if I notice the forecast says WSW for one of these then I reckon a fast time will be on. Unaffiliated 18:20 18:29 70.00
