Race number 664. Tis the wife's birthday so will run with her and see how she goes. Will see what unfolds during the race.
Not a bad race. BB's head fell off on lap three hence time but still good fun to run this.
ran 1th half in 1hr 35, 2nd half i was abysmal, if it was not for ugly, it would have got real ugly, over 4 hours i would of thought.
too many probs for sub 3,if my calf holds up will use as long run and enjoy. If i feel good i will put in a real effort. No probs though still looking forward to it.
god that last lap was a real struggle, hilly and windy !
Blimey - we were lucky with the rain stopping just in time.. but the wind!! Still managed a PB though so very happy. :). Sure I would have got my target without the wind!!
Time from my Garmin
Hard today, Windy and Hilly, but managed a PB and can't really complain about that.
in a moment of madness and cos i think my amsterdam run will be a disaster! update!!!! cant believe i got sub 3:15!!!! very very windy today in places but much more scenic than i expected. went out far too fast but luckily managed to get round ok. lots of amazing runners who encouraged me on the way round to keep going-couldnt have done it without them- thanku!!
A PB for me, perfect weather and a really enjoyable race. Friendly marshals throughout. Well done to everyone who took part and helped out!!
Some undulations. Some narrow technical sections. Nice starting pen arrangement. Not sure where the start line was. Certainly no timing mat.
At least couple of minutes faster than London. Had been hoping for sub 3:10, but the wind put paid to that. Some tough sections on open road, but generally marshalls did good job, holding back traffic to let increasingly tired runners keep going. Seemed long walk from finish back to sports hall!
A bit windy, but superb conditions otherwise. Broke 3h for the first time!
Plus top ten result in a marathon!
