Coming back frominjury, only managing to do steady runs at around 9m/m. Doing this race as a training run and beating 2 hrs will be just fine thank you.
Oh dear. Started on pace - 7.10 - 7.20, but problems from mile 5. Slipped to 8, then 8.30. By the end struggled to keep under 9. Bad. Health (iron?) Conditioning (lack of?)
I'll be happy with 10 m/m for this run but I'll just run to how I feel. Going to switch off my bleep alert on the Garmin and try to run to how I feel. I might even cover it up so I can't see how I'm doing!! POST RACE UPDATE - did what I wanted which was 2.10 something so pleased. Will update time when official results out 2 hours 10 mins 15 secs.
Post race: Fantastic run for me, really enjoyed virtually all of it. Smashed my PB, very happy bunny indeed!!
rough guess really as i,ve not been up to speed since glute problem after marathon, going under 1.35 was never a prob but seems to be at the moment.....
Quite windy, thankfully worked well with another guy (Dr.Bob I think - cheers mate, it would have been tough by myself). Measured 13.21 on Garmin (through 13.1 in about 78.15).
Happy with result, slowly getting back into shape.
on comeback trail so sub 88 would be a great run. had altered predcition to looking for 86ish so sub 85 good run. Harder work than should be but coming back. Will start speedwork next Saturday
This was a very flat course overall so lots of PB potential. However I'd been ill and been on holiday in the approaching weeks so missed lots of training. The furthest I managed to run was 8.5 miles.
Roughly on target pace until about eight miles then the wind got me at nine. 13.20 on the Garmin. Would hope for low-74 on a better course.
I love this race
2009 will be my 4th year in a row.
WOW - how windy was that !! Still a great run though, brilliantly organised & marshalled as usual.
