Entered June 23 - intend to enjoy the race and use it as a good training session.
Suffered a bit in the race because of hayfever (took a tablet before the race, made me feel like I just couldn't push any harder than 174bpm). Found the time trail race an interesting challenge, quite lonely in places and it felt more like a training run. The course is actually quite tough because the surface is mostly dirt which saps a bit out of you cumulatively.
Nevertheless finished 12th and 4th in the main time trial race excluding the elites so am reasonably happy with that.
Don't care how fast I do this one, just want to enjoy it. Oh, and I have to beat last year's time of 2:24...
Enjoyed that, apart from the tunnel at 4 miles-eek!
Too hot and too knackered for a quicker time
1 st distance run since calf injury so gona take it steady
Duke of Drayton
I feel like the half is unfinished business, I didn't enjoy the last one mostly because of my poor preparation so hoping for better from this one. I loved this run, my second half marathon. It was friendly and well organised taking place along the surprisingly scenic canal towpath running from Wolves to B'ham. Predominately flat with the occasional rise to climb over canal bridges definate. A hot sunny day but plenty of water stations some with Isotonic drinks also marshalls at every mile marker. Definate PB potential. Sign me up for next year!
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOT!! Poor result!
Hills of Death (HOD)
Pacing Nat nice day out I hadn't done this far in a while so good LR before Holiday
Very well organised, well done folks
One Pace Carl
Really enjoyed the run but was hoping for a better time thinking it was a flat course. great to see so many familiar faces and enjoyed a nice diet coke at the Pitcher and Piano afterwards.
great race to run in! This was my first half marathon and i enjoyed it well done to the organisers great stuff!
Opps woke up late so no pre run food.....also the heat killed me, this was supposed to be a sub 2hr for me..........:-(...still did enjoy it though, good value for money, i'll be back next year.
Booked trian and get to spend the night in Wolverhampton - woohoooo!
Mrs Jigs (Luverlylegs)
Will have to turn round and run another 8 miles back after!
Running this as part of a training run so I'll be the one running back at you, against the flow!! He he
I loved this race! not a PB, but had to walk through the tunnel. pleased with the time, and would definitely do it again
