Hope not to be injured this year
A surprising PB in the lovely Royal Parks Half Marathon. Hadn't slept very well so set off like a zombie, but felt pretty comfortable about 7:20 pace, so stuck to that until the inclines in the park. Really enjoyed the race once more, it is such a scenic course. Started only about 8 rows from the front, fantastic! Unfortunately Ben Fogle beat me this year.
Chip time 1 53 16 3466th or 344th in age cat
my first HM, loved it, been well and truly bitten by the bug. Lovely organisation, although the nokia music tents could have actually pumped out some music!
Ok up to half way. 1 min ahead of pace at this point, then legs gave up on me from 8 miles on. Walked twice, both calfs tightened. Limped final few miles. I can and will crack 1:45 !!!!!!!
Running with Mr MF in whatever time he wants to do it in...Abingdon the following week so not a PB attempt. Loved this last year, fingers crossed for as lovely weather this time around!
I'M IN, I'M IN, I'M IN! DO WE GET A MEDAL FOR GETTING IN? My first half marathon and I am v.v.v.v.v excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Feeling a bit tired thanks to the kids but have trained well and knew I could sustain a decent pace. It hurt but I don't care; smashed my PB.
pretty good - first HM, and considering i could barely walk the week before and i've missed about 50% of training for last 6months due to injury, v pleased! great race atmos too.
My first half! Very excited!
Really want to do a sub 2 hr on this one but due to being injured and not being able to train too much (and putting on a bit of weight) really cannot see it happening so will now be happy with under 2.30
Decided to treat this is as training LSR simply because I haven't done the training and it would have been foolish to push it. Slowed down considerably after around 8 miles but was determined to run the whole way (which I did) and finish in under 2:15 (which I also did - just!)
Time to crack on with preparation for St Neots now.
Early days- no training. turned up and ran!
Hopefully I won't get injured before this one like I did just before my first one in Stafford!
SHOULD be a PB!
I was injured a few weeks beforehand so didn't get to train much at all! Was determined to beat my PB though.
ideal day, 15k training runs paid off as did pasta loading! ran as close to 8-8:15 p/m as I could
Solid 1:32 at one of the most I have enjoyable HM's I have raced. More to follow...
Lovely slow plod wiv me mates!!
BRING IT ON !!!!
Hooray l done it and really enjoyed....will l be there next year ??????.....probably xX
Good event, but could have done with more marshalls to stop people crossing the course.
Not a lot of toilets either, will definately do it next year.
First time for this, I missed it last year and did the stupid run to the beat instead.
First half done in 44.29 but couldn't keep it going for the second half, just didn't have it in me to do a sub 90 minute half so I suffered for the second. I will destroy this result (which is a significant PB in it's own right) next March when I do my pre-London Marathon half (probably Bath).
The race was impeccably organised - great communication and well place water stations with bottles w/sports caps. Nice sustainable wooden medal is a nice touch. Would definitely recommend.
chip time 1.39.55
Brilliant run with Monster Feet and Mr Monster Feet. weather perfect. Saw lots of Fetchies on the way around, all running very well, and lots of support from the crowds.
Absolutely loved this race, great atmosphere great course etc etc
Crowded all the way. Perfect conditions. Flat. Didn't push hard enough.
Time according to garmin. Saw loads of Fetchies and could not ctach DIYDiva up!
Hoping I can maintain 8:15's and don't get a stitch!!
Well did get a stitch but warded it off with my new skill of breathing properly
Best 'big city' half around - very scenic, interesting route, good organisation, proper T-shirt and nice food-fair after, recommended. Happy with my time after a summer disrupted by injury.
PB - nice running condition on a flat course. 1st mile was inneviatably too fast. Settled in and then began to drift to 6.41 at mile 5. I then ran with a Mornington Chaser till mile 11 steadily passing people. Last few miles were quite hard and my form was a bit ragged. Pleased with time having fouled up 3 half marathons ( Wokingham, Burnham Beeches and MK ) over the Summer. Negative split by about 45 secs, 1/2 way point 42.23, about 90th place at 1/2 point, passed by none in 2nd half. 53rd/10,000

Hated this! A bad day!
I didn't expect a PB !!!!
Pleased as it's in my 50th year
PB. 10,000 runners
I came 12th out of the Women, 169th including Men
Good fast and fun. And I talked to Ben Fogle at 6 Miles !
My first half marathon in over 4 years. Very little training. Managed 9 miles with no problems then ran/walked the rest. Very good race, well organised and a huge turn out, would like to do it again!

Its after the hog roast, curry and fruit stalls but before the jellied sweets, pro-biotic gloop and to the side of the toilet queues. Let's get as many Fetchies as we can together to see how the day went. Looking forward to seeing you all!
