neiltaff Did this last year for the first time really enjoyed ,although i paid the price for an overexhuberant first half. Cramp in both hamstrings and both calves at the same time meant a bit of walking between mile 15 and 21 ,never mind it's all part of the learning curve . Unaffiliated 3:12:08 3:20:00

Johnny Blaze If I don't do sub 4 at paris this is my last chance for the year. May cry if I do it (or get bladdered one of the two).

Revised time down due to injury woes - will be trying for 10mm and see if I can get round in that - will be chuffed if I do. Unaffiliated 3:59:35 4:09:14 4:20:00 4:13:44 53.70

Ginger N Pleased and at the same time dissapointed, was running 2:52 pace and felt as comfortable. But too much refueling during mile 15 brought on wave after wave of stitches so slowed to 3hr pace. Couldn't eat or drink from then on which made the last few miles intresting. Held on for a PB when it would have been easier to cut my losses. Beckenham RC 2:52:32 2:55:38 2:55:38 69.23

Race report - Worst race i ever done since starting running in 2005. Had all hopes of getting 3:05/3;10. didn't feel right after 3 miles was working to hard to keep to my pace, after 10 miles started to struggle. The last 16 was hell and 300 other runners past me until i finish. Still can not work out what went wrong. However planning another Marathon in April, because i known i can do much much better. Impossible is Nothing DNF - went out at sub-3 pace to see what happened but lack of that level of fitness became obvious. 16 miles out my legs were tying up and (although 16th mile was uphill) ran a couple of slow miles so decided not to stagger to the finish in a time over 3 hours and knock out 6 weeks of running in the process. A long walk back to the start past many concerned other runners! Well-organised race, good course and good conditions, shame it didn't work out. Westbury Harriers 3:07:43 3:23:32
