This event is listed on these dates:
Slowest half marathon for a couple of years - mixture of (i) not enough training recently and (ii) lousy weather on the day. Torrential rain before and after the start, lots of standing water and muddy underfpoot on the off-road sections.
Not done enough long runs, but fancy some chips after
Great course, nice course, undulating but not too tough. Long hill, though not especially steep, betwen miles 4 and 5 and another going up to mile 7. Waterlogged shoes and socks meant that I got a bit tired from 10 miles but pleased with the result in light of this.
Very wet, cold and windy run. wobbled at 10 miles but that was lack of good energy food. Strong sprint finish. Very nice race even if drenched!
1st Half Marathon. Started in heavy rain and strong winds. Brighten after about 6/7 miles. Lovely course.
Did this last year, its a lovely run
Running as part of a long run - aiming to run no faster than Marathon Pace **warmed up with 5 easy miles (soaked!) then managed 7.5 min mile pace mostly to 10 miles - faded a bit but managed a strong finish - weather poo!
Blakey 26.2 RRC
knackered after Dublin, walked last 3 miles.
Wet Wet Wet and witch wich witch
Miserable day, but still a good race
Heavy rainful could not dampen a good atmosphere. This was a very well organised race despite the conditions. Not a particularly good medal at the end of the race and the T shirt could have been a bit more creative. My time was OK considering I had a tight hamstring.
Rain rain and more rain
Mental mental weather!!!
Nice race but awful weather - never been so wet!
