anitad Brilliant race - really enjoyed it. Much better prepared than Bath Half. Still needed to walk during last couple of miles. Think I started off too fast again (~ 10mins/mile) but this got me ahead of my predicted time. Maybe if I started slower I'd be able to keep going longer? Or starting slowly means I'd be on my feet longer so better to run faster and finish quicker??? Didn't need the loo part way round either so food/drink routine better this time too.

thelastdom Went to a pre race step aerobics class led by Mr Motivator wearing a nurse's uniform and thought 'NOW i have truly seen it all'.

Have missed nearly two weeks of training because of a knee injury and nearly pulled out because it satill wasn't right. Even lining up on the start about ten minutes from the off I nearly turned back to just watch because the knee was twinging. Instead I whacked my tunes on the iPod and did my usual long distance bopping warm up and decided just to trot round slow and easy and maybe duck out after about 6 miles of recovery pace.

After looking at my watch on about the two mile mark i realised I had paced it all wrong and gone off like the clappers so decided to maintain it and just go for it and crash out when the knee finally gave way. It hurt a bit going round but it wasn't anything i couldn't deal with and was chuffed silly with a great PB (even though all my mates teased me and said i was a conman since i'd been banging on about a knee injury all weekend and then put in my fastest half ever - but it really WAS hurting, mofos!!

Great race, really enjoyable course, totally smashing weekend. This is why i run :-) Clapham Chasers 1:32:12 1:32:12 1:39:00 1:32:12 62.88
