El Del
Good, well organised race, but on a personal level a real low point- only run slower in a 10K on 10 occassions, and most of them were in the early days. Did not see any K markers until 4 and was in danger of 40 mins at that stage. One of these nights when it just didn't happen, and no idea why. Oh well things can hopefully only get better.
The Achillies strain I got before the Edinburgh marathon is still causing me problems hence the somewhat disappointing time. Good course though, I'd do it again next year.
Very windy ...but did well
Not a good run, don't remember last km or crossing line!!
Not actual chip time so probably nearer my predicted time than what was noted by the time i crossed the line. Not my fastest 10km and it did feel slightly longer.
Nice run nice night > Time was thanks to julesr for his excellant pacing . Sub 50 seems impossible these days !
ran steady the whole way but felt tired....first 5.5km was into a headwind and the climb up through 6k made for a slow time but then the way back after that was quick. Held 2nd most of the way but ended up 4th and 1st vet and only 12 seconds behind the winner. Enjoyed the night and will be back to do this next year.
Kirkintilloch 10k pacing Larrry with 3 r's - nice route and even nicer not to have to thrash it for a change.
Roadrunner Bark
This Is a good wee Race, though not as flat as I had Imagined as there was a couple of Inclines! The weather didn't help as It was heavy rain for a while and quite windy In the first half of the race. I started off In 7th place by sitting behind the leading guys, this becomming a pack of 4 which set the tone then that this was going to be a close race! I had a good sight of them all around the course and just before Mile 5, I decided to have a real go at and I passed two runner's and moved very comfortable Into 5th.I knew If I could close In on the guys In front then I would have a real chance of catching the eventual winner. However I seemed to have run out of ground just when my pace was getting quicker and the race was over! I finished In 5TH Place and I was also 3RD Senior-Male Overall, with there being 2 vets In front of me.Not a PB tonight though I can take alot of positives away from the race esp by finishing very strongly.I had a good chat with the winner Rithcie Leach.I really enjoyed It and I look forward to doing this again next time around.
decided at the last moment to run, great race , although the wind made sure not a good time. watch time 42.25
