_andy Went for a fast start in order not to get held up after the first very steep part - which worked, since I could then run at a good pace on the flatter part before the scrambling ascent up the Law began. Here I leaked easily a dozen places (and more) to lots of skinny folk and eventually started digging even deeper to keep ahead of others nearer the top. A fast ridge run then slowed to turn the corner up to Ben Cleuch, as the leaders came flying down from the clag above. Ran steadily along the incline to the summit (counted the runners who had turned, so knew I was placed 41st), taking back a place approaching the cairn and then sped up properly after the turn, taking back a couple more places before Andrew Gannel Hill, and a couple more on a quick descent from here. Managed to get to the sheep trod, which just goes on and on forever with clear space in front of me this year which was good. More rapid descending on slippery rocks and ended in 37th place (all of 42s quicker than last year). Kinross Road Runners 37:17 39:00 1:03:30 1:03:38 42.48
