Ally2 Race the train. Started steady as distance and wind in back 7 could be a factor. Moved up the field to 10th at 7mile, dug in with a Bath triathlete guy all the way home along hill cambers, bogs and tight tracks into strong headwind but got taken at 13mile by a vet. Heavy legged in last mile so ended 11th. Notts AC, Hermitage Harriers RC 1:32:39 1:32:39 1:32:39 67.18
TZ Hoping to run just fast enough to beat that train, but not derail my training! UPDATE: One of the best races I've ever fun - everybody should try this race at least once! So pleased to beat the train. 100 Marathon Club, Winchester & District AC 1:34:25 1:34:25 1:47:00 1:34:25 66.78
Boycie Good race - finished 24th overall (out of 958) - close to last year's time, which represents a good improvement, as most others were 3-4 minutes slower, due to muddier conditions and a force 9 gale blowing off the coast to slow our run on the way back. Reached the turn (well 7 mile mark) in 45.45 then took 50min to do the 7 miles back. Struggled a little towards the half way mark and Greggers got a minute ahead as I was slowed on the sheep track by some geezer who was trying to 'run' in road shoes - not clever!!! It actually worked out in my favour as I recovered quite a bit (although it didn't feel like it!) and then from 10 miles onwards I began to close PG down rapidly, taking the lead around the 12 mile mark and quickly opening up 100m+! It was a struggle at the end back on the road, but everyone was tired! Sadly no pb, but my best finish position wise, so I am well pleased with that! Go-KL First time I've run this event - wasn't quite sure what to expect but it lived up to and exceeded expectations. The off camber stuff, the mud on the sheep track, the pools of mud, the wind the hills, the train. Was hard work but did not go absolutely flat out and loved it, had a smile on my face for most of the second half of the race, ran very strongly in the last three miles as I picked off loads of runners including most from our club, only just behind Martin at finish - another half mile and would have caught him. Legs not too bad after, bit stiff, couple of bruises on shins and right one sore especially after driving. Weather: cloudy, humid, windy (Head wind on way back), around 20C. rhb Beat the train. Beat last years time perhaps?

Given i've hardly trained since stratford, had 3 pints night before, went out on bike on race morning, went out WAY too hard from the front, i did quite well. That said, i didn't do better than last year so apologies to those who bet on me! Back to do it next year, just you wait and see! Chorlton Runners 1:40:30 1:52:05 1:39:59 1:52:05 55.54

Mountainmat The hardest race I have ever done, fun though. I look forward to next year. Note to self - when planning to run a 14 mile cross country do a few training runs longer than 7 miles. Hermitage Harriers RC 1:38:42 2:07:50 2:07:50 48.68

Dowse A race from 0 to 7 miles, a walk in the mud from 7 - 10 miles, a race from 10 to 14 miles. Glad I did it once, loved the race parts, but probably won't do it again as I didn't enjoy nearly falling off a hill. JovialGnome Did this last year and can't in all honesty say that I enjoyed much of it (apart from the weekend with friends) but did such a rubbish time that I've simply got to improve on it this year - here's hoping the weather Gods are smiling upon us!!
Yep, I was rather optimistic with my forecast but this year I actually enjoyed the race and I beat that time, even if it was only by 8 minutes - like Arnie says Unaffiliated 2:47:08 2:47:08 2:29:00 2:47:08 43.24
Bodge First time and been struggling with injuries all year so not likely to beat any trains... Hopefully will enjoy and that is all one can ask...

Right hip gave in just after the half way mark and struggled home. Not to disappointed but a bench mark for next year. Stafford Harriers 3:03:19 3:03:19 2:30:00 3:03:19 36.77
